The winners of AMBERIF SELECTION 2020

At its meeting on 27 August 2020 in Gdańsk, the Jury assessed 50 original jewellery pieces.

The judges noted with satisfaction that the quality of the entries was very high: many pieces were both excellently crafted and featured novel design, which made it difficult to clearly differentiate between the Design and Workmanship Excellence categories. The judges expressed their hope that this year’s change in the Award’s format would also encourage the participants in future editions to create pieces which stand out in the high quality of both their design and workmanship and which, spectacularly and efficiently, contribute to promoting Baltic amber and Gdańsk, the World Capital of Amber, all over the world.

The Jury awarded the following prizes:

Poland’s Minister of Development GRAND PRIX
NAC AMBER Marcin Wesołowski for the Nature is Treasure necklace made of gilded silver, Baltic amber and cubic zirconia by Marcin Wesołowski

VERDICT DESCRIPTION: The remarkable beauty of amber requires a perfect setting that is made with precision and composed with perfection.

CHILLI Ireneusz Glaza for the Dark Shadow pendant made of dark rhodium-plated silver, Baltic amber and cubic zirconia by Ireneusz Glaza

VERDICT DESCRIPTION: Amber in a contemporary form that is technically perfect, pure and modern.
