TOP AMBER - Amber Handicraft: The Nationwide Competition for Goldsmiths and Jewellers

This annual review has been organised since 2003 by the Trade Committee of Goldsmiths and Jewellers at the Pomeranian Skilled Craft Chamber of SMEs. Its primary intention is to support the career growth of professional jewellers — masters of handicraft and journeymen—who specialise in traditional gold/silversmith techniques, and to inspire and support the vocational jewellery education and training system for the youngest generation of artists.

In a nod to Gdańsk, the theme of the competition is dedicated to Baltic amber and its results are presented at Amberif. Over the 23-year history of the award, unique jewellery pieces have been created, subsequently acquired by museums and private collections, contributing to the promotion of amber handicraft. The prizes will be presented to the winners by Poland’s Deputy Minister of Culture and National Heritage, Mr Jarosław Sellin, at a ceremony on 27 August 2020 at 15:00, Conference Room 1C, AmberExpo Level I.
